Bikini and Brazilian Waxing
There is no better hair removal process than waxing. Although often intimidating, our job is to make it an excellent experience to keep our clients coming back. The skin-loving benefits that we have in our wax, the care that we take with each client, and the impeccable results make the team at Salon Madeleine happy to provide waxing services to all clientele.
What is the Waxing Process?
Waxing is a depilatory process, which is the removal of the root of the hair follicle. When you get a waxing treatment done at Salon Madeleine, our esthetician will gently apply wax to the targeted area(s) for hair removal. While the warm wax will cling to the hairs, it will not burn the skin.
What’s in the Wax?
We take skin seriously at our salon, and we promise never to put something in your hair or on your skin that isn’t the highest quality. Our wax is made out of entirely naturally derived waxes formulated out of natural resin, pure beeswax in addition to natural plant oils. When applied, the wax provides an extra conditioning treatment to the skin. We understand that skin can be delicate, especially in some waxable regions, which is why we’ve chosen this low-temperature all-natural wax.
Which Bikini Wax Is Right for Me?
Some may find that choosing which type of waxing service is right for them can be difficult. There are many options available depending on which area(s) may need to be waxed. When it comes to bikini vs. Brazilian, individuals can be confused due to its interchangeable use.
During a bikini wax, our esthetician will wax the sides and top of the panty line area. This waxing treatment is aptly named a bikini wax because of the removal of hairs that would (and now will not) show when wearing a bikini. If a fuller coverage wax is needed, we suggest choosing the Brazilian wax treatment.
From front to back, the Brazilian wax will take it all off. Unlike the bikini wax, this treatment will cover the entire front bikini area. Depending on each client, our esthetician can leave some hair in the shape of a strip, triangle, or other design. The client has complete control over the finished product. The Brazilian wax also comes with an added backside strip for a hairless and clean look.
How To Prepare
We’ll be honest—waxing can hurt. To make the waxing experience better, clients should follow a few should and should not suggestions.
For starters, we ask that clients do not tan the area(s) to be treated 24-48 hours before a wax. For the best wax, we also recommend not consuming alcohol or caffeine before the appointment. Both alcohol and caffeine can make the pores tighten and make the waxing experience more uncomfortable.
The things that we suggest our clients do before waxing are pretty simple. It is a must that the hair in the targeted area is at least ¼ inch long. If the hairs are too short, it will become tough to extract the follicle. Wearing comfortable cotton panties is suggested to avoid any irritation if it’s their first time getting waxed. Additionally, please tell the esthetician about any medications that may interact with the waxing experience. We always err on the side of caution. Finally, we recommend to RELAX. When clients are relaxed and breathing properly, it can help them feel less discomfort during the appointment.
Benefits of Waxing
Getting a bikini or Brazilian wax can genuinely become a wow moment for many people as they realize all of the beneficial, lasting results that these treatments can offer. A few of the most notable benefits that waxing has are:
- Smoother skin: Post-wax, clients can already feel how soft their skin already is. Waxing removes the root of the hair follicle and will exfoliate the skin. No more razor bumps!
- Thinner hair: After the hair grows back from the last wax, many clients notice that their hair is beginning to become thinner, finer, and even softer, too!
- Healthy skin: Even though waxing is mainly for hair removal, it also physically exfoliates the waxed area. By removing dead skin cells, the skin can breathe better and absorb any products put on it.
- Lasting results: Say goodbye to shaving every day. When getting waxed, the hair will take longer to grow back in because the follicle is extracted at the root.
Aftercare for Waxing Clients
Directly after a wax, we ask that individuals avoid the sun. Avoiding this exposure will help prevent any further irritation or burning of the skin. Sauna treatments, as well as hot compresses, should also be avoided post-wax. If the skin is irritated, we suggest using a cold compress on the area instead.
